The Life of My Country - Eish Balady

The Life of My Country [My Land] employs poetry as an act of translation of the Egyptian Flatbread and invites its reader to have a mouthful of the word by way of its literal translation from Arabic into English, but also by way of its political and socio-cultural history following The Bread Riots in Egypt, marking the loaf a staple of Egyptian lexicon and society; the people's bread. Readers also get a recipe of how to make their 3eish Baladi at home!
