Washm; Lines of memory (Tattoos)

This zine offers an ethnographic and anthropological look at tattooing as a language of identity and self-expression. It explores how tattoos have always been more than cultural or religious symbols and how they became a form of freedom rooted in meaning, religion, symbolism, and culture. Focusing on Egypt, it shows how tattoos once documented life and context, turning the body into the medium that held the narrative of existence.
