My journey with photography began at thirteen, with a small pink camera that captured family gatherings and the roses in our garden. Over time, photography became my first language—a space for self-expression. This book is a tribute to those beginnings and a reminder to always ask: Why do we take photos?

This series of four publications, each featuring a different photographer, is Mohamed Abo Gabal's first publishing project inspired by a lifelong passion for photography that began during the Arab Spring. His encounter with Aya was the catalyst for this work.
